Summer Spaghetti with Peeled Tomatoes & Tuna

The perfect representation of the Mediterranean diet in one easy and quick summer recipe. Nutritious ingredients such as coratina extra virgin olive oil and tuna fillets, alongside the goodness of peeled tomatoes and protein rich Filotea pasta.

With its simple preparation and light, yet satisfying taste, this dish is a perfect choice for warm summer evenings or anytime you crave a taste of the Mediterranean. 

Ingredients for 4 people

320g Filotea spaghetti
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
Peeled tomatoes, roughly chopped
1 jar of Tuna (180 grams), drained 
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat the extra virgin olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add the peeled tomatoes to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.

Stir in the drained tuna and cook for an additional 2 minutes, then add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, along with the chopped basil leaves. 

Toss everything together to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.

A quick and easy recipe, great for Summer but also nutritious and tasty.
